After carrying out a series of Programme evaluation activities for 2017-2022 P3W of the Evangelical Christian Church in the Land of Papua carried out the preparation of Strategic Planning with a systematic and structured thought process. The preparation process was carried out by the Centre for Women's Development (P3W) of the Evangelical Christian Church in Tanah Papua facilitated by the SHEEP Indonesia Foundation. The P3W Strategic Planning stage for the period 2023-2027 was carried out with the Appreciative Inquiry methodology (a method that transforms the capacity of human systems for positive change by focusing on achievements and positive things and expectations in the future).
Strategic Planning with Appreciative Inquiry (AI) methodology was conducted using 3 methods: role play, video and painting. The staff's initial assumption that the Strategic Planning stage would be very heavy and boring was not felt at all. "At first I didn't understand what the flow of the Strategic Plan discussion was like, only that it was a dynamic and fun process! It turns out that strategic planning is developing a plan that becomes the basic direction for the institution to carry out its programmes. And this is a very important process to be understood by all staff" said one of the staff; They also said that the AI Methodology with the SOAR analysis approach (Strength: Strength; Opportunity; Aspiration and Result) is a new thing that can encourage active participation of staff in P3W Strategic Planning. "When compiling a role play to describe P3W's vision, I got a clear view of how the vision must be strong and inspire every movement of the institution".
The dynamics that occurred succeeded in formulating the P3W mandate which contains vision, mission, values, goals, and strategies; Mission: Carrying out social services for Papuan women to improve the welfare of families, congregations and communities with a spirit of love. Values: 1.Prudence; 2.Perseverance; 3.Faithfulness; 4.Obedience. Objectives: 1.Presenting champions (Great Papuan Women) to improve CaLisTung Literacy, nutritional intake of toddlers / pregnant women, reduce social trauma and disaster risk in the 3 P3W work areas; 2.Increasing the economic income of congregation members in the P3W work area; 3.Strengthening human resource capacity and organisational governance systems; 4.Improving infrastructure support and management systems in 3 P3W offices; 5.Increasing profits from business units. Strategy: 1.Education and Empowerment of Women; 2.Strengthening Information and Communication Systems; 3.Strengthening HR and Institutional Capacity; 4.Development of business management systems. The process, which lasted for 10 days, produced a P3W mandate document which will then be derived in the formulation of work programmes.
