YSI in collaboration with partners in Lombok Yayasan Lembaga Kemanusiaan Masyarakat Pedesaan (YLKMP) carried out the continuation of the recovery and community strengthening programme that was recommended at the end of December 2022. On 10 April 2023, YLKMP together with volunteers and field staff conducted a field visit to Salut Village, Kayangan Sub-district, North Lombok District. The visit was conducted to identify the potential and challenges of the assisted MSME groups (Small businesses have characteristics such as a limited number of employees, small revenue and capital, and a relatively small scale of operations.) in Salut Village.
Updates on developments in the field are very important for YLKMP to add data and information so that it can provide recommendations and analyses according to the needs of MSMEs in Salut village. The identification involved 9 groups of MSMEs in Salut Village. As a result of the identification, there are 2 groups that are ready to enter the digital market.
The identification in Salut village is the beginning of the activities that YLKMP will then carry out in the other five assisted villages. This identification is used as planning and development stages for MSMEs to improve product quality and expand market access. Confirming what YLKMP will do, Masturido as the Lombok area manager met in a separate place said "The results of the identification will be taken into consideration in determining the program implementation strategy, as well as encouraging improvements within the group to maximise the existing potential so that MSME businesses can become the foundation of livelihoods for its members." He concluded.
