In order to boost the regional economy and improve the welfare of UMKMs in Sabu Raijua, the Office of Transmigration Cooperatives UMKMs and Labour together with UMKM players and local partners ranging from consumers, media and NGO SHEEP Indonesia Foundation working in Sabu Raijua district initiated a Focus Group Discussion to seek ideas and ideas and solutions to UMKM problems in Sabu Raijua District.
From the data from the Office of Transmigration, Cooperatives, UMKMs and Labour, there are 4,770 UMKM players in Sabu Raijua from various lines of business that are cultivated by the community in Sabu Raijua district, this figure is fairly large and has the potential to become the backbone of the regional economy. However, there are still several obstacles that need the attention of all parties, according to Sarif Hidayat, area manager of the SHEEP Indonesia Foundation in seeing the condition of UMKMs in Sabu Raijua "Regarding the data of 4,770 UMKM players in Sabu, this is big data. We need a clear classification of how they are currently positioned so that the interventions we will carry out can focus, how do we see their insights in managing their business, starting from business analysis for sustainability, legality, coaching for quality improvement, additional capital and market access that is open to them"
All FGD participants were very enthusiastic in the discussion and gave responses to each other, identifying for this marketing innovation by exploring the current condition of UMKMs, the obstacles of UMKM players, exploring ideas and ideas of participants and steps to achieve ideas that were mutually agreed upon. Devi Setyaningsih as a representative of the Office of Transmigration, Cooperatives, UMKMs and Manpower in facilitating this FGD found it interesting "Many ideas and ideas emerged from the participants that were conveyed to us, strengthening UMKM baseline data, coaching for UMKM players as needed, helping market access both MSME product markets and through digital platforms starting from the web and Facebook which are quite familiar inabu, these things are input for us to help UMKM players in the future, and none other than this opportunity is our effort to involve all parties to get varied and appropriate input".
Meanwhile, another participant, Mrs Olif from the Basis Titu Hari Community Organisation in Keliha Village, who focuses on the cultivation of Sorghum commodities, said "We need assistance from the agency, we want sorghum products to be traded well and attractively, we have the desire that this sorghum can be sold in the form of sorghum rice, flour, bread or snack sticks, we see the potential of this product through the internet but do not yet have experience, besides that related to UMKM permits so that later products can sell safely, how is that".
At the end of the activity, SHEEP Indonesia together with stakeholders and OMB members who came agreed to follow up this activity by creating a communication group and preparing steps to encourage participants' ideas and ideas that we can jointly realise, so that the hope will increase the regional economy from increasingly empowered UMKM actors.
