Efforts to build community resilience through collaborative programmes with Yayasan Ekonesia and Bonebula (in Central Sulawesi) and Yayasan Lembaga Kemanusiaan Masyarakat Pedesaan (YLKMP) (in North Lombok) have entered the stage of programme implementation to go into the community. For this reason, on Thursday (09/03) and Friday (10/03) YSI developed action plans and provided capacity building to the Partner CSOs (Ekonesia, Bonebula and YLKMP) on observation findings, financial reporting methods, staff safeguarding and GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion). The activities that have taken place are a follow-up to the discussion of analysing the results of field findings (assessment of assisted villages).
The first day of the activity focused on understanding the conceptual framework of the program followed by capacity building and socialisation of guidance documents by YSI staff; on the second day, the activity focused on the preparation of action plans for each CSO; this became the basis for partners together with the YSI Area Manager to then take the implementation strategy. Martin Dennise, Area Manager for Central Sulawesi, stated that the implementation strategy in Central Sulawesi is slightly different this time, the mentoring process is supported by CSOs (re: ekonesia and bonebula) so that in its implementation it is necessary to carry out a consolidation process and a clear division of roles between YSI and CSOs, these efforts are made to better identify the profile of the assisted villages and existing work programs. This also supports a more effective and efficient transition process.
Consolidation needs to be intense because the focus of the BRC-PD Programme this year is to carry out advocacy work as well as encourage investment in mitigation systems and preparedness capacity that has been built in the village so that efforts to build sustainable resilience must be encouraged by all interested parties and build awareness that this effort is joint work and share roles. Martin Dennise as the Central Sulawesi project manager at the end of the activity stressed that the implementation of this program kick-off workshop is a real effort to improve the quality of the BRC-PD program which will run again for the next year "Through this workshop, YSI and its partner CSO Ekonesia are expected to have the same understanding of the partnership position and also related to improving the quality of the BRC-PD program in 2023" he concluded.
