Friday (11/03/22) Socialization and Education Activities for the Community Evacuation Center (PEM) in Hamlet 1 Desa Bangga were carried out by targeting vulnerable groups, one of which was through the study of the Islamic Women group (KWI) in Bangga Village which was a routine agenda. Why is PEM socialization and education done with this group? ; This group was followed by several vulnerable groups of the elderly and mothers. Those who attended gained knowledge about disaster mitigation with the theme of the existence, function and facilities of PEM as an evacuation site during a disaster.
Various responses emerged during the discussion. The women asked about how PEM can be functioned when there is no disaster, ideas and ideas that emerged from the participants for the plan to optimize PEM into a center for community activities such as training and improving the skills of mothers, gathering places, dasawisma to children's playgrounds. safe and easy to monitor. This socialization and education was attended by 12 members of the AL-Khairat Islamic Women's Study and will be followed up by involving them in making pocket books together with all elements of the community so that in the future the plans that have been prepared by women can include activities that support disaster risk reduction in the area.
The existence of vulnerable groups, especially women, is a top priority in the PEM & DRR socialization process because according to data from BNPB, women are included in a group that has a 14 times higher risk of becoming a disaster victim; It is hoped that with the socialization and the role played in the disaster risk reduction process, it is hoped that the emergence of new disasters will increase the burden and impact felt by vulnerable groups.
