I hope today is better than yesterday
Which just passed by, without doing anything
May this morning be brighter than yesterday morning
Maybe I can wake up earlier to hurry up and prepare myself.
What should I look for
What I need to find out
I want to be something that you know it's me, I've wanted it for a long time.
But in reality I still have to wait
The two stanzas of the lyrics of Nosstress' song 'Hopefully, Yes' seem to describe my reasons for sending an email to the YSI office, taking risks when what I wanted in the proposal was in fact not going to get me just because of the guise of my mind and heart at that time "Just looking for experience Jat", and the dynamics during volunteering.
Being asked to help in the field of Infocomm and Administration was a new thing for me who was never at all interested and interested in the two things above. My duties and responsibilities in the Infocomm field are to assist in the creation of content ideas to become ready-to-air content products. There are some new things that I actually tried when contributing to the Infocomm field, namely video editing for content and voice over and in the end I believe it is very useful as experience for me in the future, and quite fun. Additional activities that I also helped with were LO for representatives of assisted communities at the Meaningful Change book review event and identification of website posts in new categories that adjusted YSI's strategic planning.
Not only Infocomm, I was also invited to work and learn in the field of Administration with the task of helping in the library, inventory, and a little on administration such as making templates for minutes of events for grants and auctions. Actually, this job doesn't require much effort, it's more about patience, thoroughness and focus. This experience certainly helped me understand what kind of work I wanted to do in the future.
The YSI environment was quite pleasant, with friendly and humorous staff during my time as a volunteer. The introduction of new people who I found cool and inspiring also gave me a new perspective on the scope of work in NGOs. During these two months I am very grateful for the acceptance and direction that has been done by the brothers, fathers and mothers at YSI who often bothered me. Just like the title of this article which was inspired by the title of the song Nosstress, I hope that in the future all the learning and experience I get from YSI can produce benefits for me personally in particular.
