Efforts to improve family-based public health are intensively carried out by SHEEP Indonesia in the Central Sulawesi region, one of which is through the family posyandu program. The existence of family posyandu has been felt by more than 16 health centers and involves approximately 95 cadres spread across the proud village area, Enu Village, Toayavunta Village, Lendetovea Village and Lombonga Village. The family posyandu, which is one of the health program pilots initiated by YSI in its implementation, not only targets puskesmas and cadres as subjects who are directly involved in handling the community but also synergizes with various parties including the Central Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, Sigi, Donggala and BKKBN of Central Sulawesi Province with their respective functions and roles.
Since the family posyandu program was implemented, cadres together with the puskesmas have identified several things and problems that exist in the village, including the high rate of stunting, the problem of ispa disease for the elderly and problems related to healthy living behaviors and environmental cleanliness that have an impact on public health. For this reason, the approach and application of family posyandu has a great impact on the village, especially in the lombonga area.Family posyandu services bring changes, one of which is in the handling and prevention of stunting in children.Family posyandu also has a role in encouraging covid-19 vaccination in the area of proud villages, Enu Village, Toayavunta Village, Lendetovea Village and Lombonga Village where posyandu cadres are together with puskesmas. The strategy of socialization and pick-up of the ball related to vaccination and its benefits to the health of all family members is interestingly told in the workshop, including when health cadres then prioritize those who are limited in access to get vaccinated and those in the vulnerable group category. The principle that the health of one member will affect other family members is also a family health movement during a pandemic.
The dynamics of implementation in each of these villages gave rise to a statement, one of which was from the Head of the Tambu Health Center, Asmir, who stated that since the modeling of family posyandu, community enthusiasm has become high because the implementation of the Family Posyandu integrates several services and involves all family members so that the history of disease in one family can be detected early.By involving all family members, there will be more parties who are aware and have an effort to remind each other in the smallest scope, namely their families.
At the end of the workshop, the stakeholders and cadres who attended were committed after the absence of assistance carried out by YSI, they agreed to make improvements and improvements to the implementation of family posyandu where there were still many shortcomings such as uneven facilities and infrastructure, uneven knowledge of cadres to perfect the concept of family posyandu with a 5-table model, all of which will be carried out by the public health office and the puskesmas and the village government for the fulfillment of equipment and logistics.
