Discussing risk reduction and disaster prevention, Mr. Jhon Mozes Hendrik Wadu revealed: "People cut down a lot of palm wine (Asian palmyra palm) used to build houses". According to him, this is one that makes the conditions during the Seroja wind disaster has a fairly severe impact, because these trees according to history in Sabu become an effort to protect residents' housing from large winds in ancient times.
(Productive lontar tree)
This does require data and analysis of experts, although the opinions of those who live based on experience and history are very important for us to learn about climate change and disaster risk analysis. Even in terms of local potential and adding to economic income, lontar becomes Sabu's wealth that is worth considering. Lontar logging is identified as a threat to the food security of sabu people who have limited water conditions, especially lontar trees can also serve to support groundwater reserves, reduce heat, and processed water slices of lontar fruit stems can be used to make meth sugar which is the superior product of the region.
