Monday, (21/03/22) at the Jiwuwu Village office hall, a Rural Participatory Study (PRA) activity was carried out to explore the problems as well as the potential for local food that the village had so far. The process is carried out in several materials, identifying and compiling local food potential, followed by pasting on the available maps to critically identify together where the local food potential is located.
The PRA activity was attended by various elements of the Jiwuwu village community including representatives of the village government, OMB members, PKK, representatives of people with disabilities, youth leaders, and the general public. Their presence provides an overview of the representation of all elements of society; In addition to having an equal number of men and women, people with disabilities are also involved as PRA participants. Moreover, it was seen when the mothers were enthusiastic about conveying a picture of the potential of their village (drawing the types of food cultivated in the yard) and trying and taking turns using all the analytical techniques provided.
The activity was closed by Mrs. Petronella who is also the PJ Head of Jiwuwu village by encouraging all elements of the community to become involved and encourage change at the village level, one of which uses the basis of the results of the analysis obtained. It is hoped that the household level and the dream of local food self-sufficiency can be realized.
The results of the PRA will be used as an illustration for YSI Sabu Raijua to focus on and base decisions on developing a food self-sufficiency program in Sabu Raijua which is discussed with all parties and involves various sectors.
