Efforts to improve family-based public health are intensively carried out by SHEEP Indonesia in the North Lombok region, one of which is through the family posyandu program. The existence of family posyandu has been felt by as many as 52 puskesmas and involves approximately 360 cadres spread across the area of Santong Village, Pansor Village, Sesait Village, Santong Mulia Village, Kayangan Village and Salut Village.
Since the family posyandu program was implemented, cadres together with the puskesmas have identified several things and problems that exist in the village, including the high rate of stunting and also the problem of respiratory diseases for the elderly. For this reason, the approach and application of family posyandu the impact is felt quite large for the village, especially in the santong mulia area where the village is a expansion area and does not yet have comprehensive family health data so that the presence of family posyandu along with midwives and cadres who have been trained is able to contribute to mapping health status and collecting public health data. Family posyandu services also bring changes, one of which is in handling and preventing stunting in children and ARI disease for the elderly where family posyandus use service strategies by visiting each hamlet in the village so that the elderly, pregnant women and people who have limited access and mobility still get health facilities. The dynamics of implementation in each of these villages received attention from the North Lombok regency government by issuing Regent Regulation Number 24 of 2022 concerning Family Integrated Service Post Management and disseminated to the participants present by dr Abdul Kadir as the head of the North Lombok Regency Health office. The regent's regulation is the result of advocacy efforts and also consistency in the implementation of family posyandu in 6 partner villages carried out by YSI, cadres, midwives, and the community since disseminating the family posyandu program in November 2021 together with the Health Office, DP2KBPMD, And Social Service.
At the end of the workshop, the stakeholders and cadres who were present committed after the absence of assistance carried out by YSI they agreed to make improvements and improvements to the implementation of family posyandu where there were still many shortcomings such as uneven facilities and infrastructure and uneven knowledge of cadres.
