Our Team

Yulia Rina Wijaya
With more than 15 years of experience in the social sector, Yulia Rina Wijaya has been entrusted as Chairperson and Director of Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia for the 2026–2030 term. In this role, she is responsible for leading the organization toward its strategic goals in line with its mandate of community empowerment.
Since 2005, with an academic background in Information Systems Management, Rina began her social work by developing organizational websites and strengthening information system governance. Her capacity-building experience at the Hendrik Kraemer Instituut, Netherlands, in 2008, specializing in International Humanitarian Law (IHL), became the foundation for managing information and developing humanitarian programs based on the Core Humanitarian Standard. She has also contributed to the development of program management tools for both humanitarian assistance and community empowerment programs within YSI.
Director
Before assuming her current role as Chairperson, she served as Coordinator of the SHEEP Indonesia Institute (SII), a commission under YSI responsible for strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across Indonesia to become more accountable and credible, drawing from YSI’s organizational and program management experience. This position required strong interpersonal communication skills and expertise in learning documentation.
Several projects reflecting her professional track record include:
- Project Manager, Leadership Scholarship Program (2024–2027): Supporting sustainable leadership development, funded by Bread for the World (BfdW) Germany.
- Project Manager, Restoration of Earthquake and Flood-Affected Lives of Indigenous Peoples in Bangga and Jono Villages (2021–2022): A post-disaster recovery project in Central Sulawesi, supported by World Renew Canada.
- Project Manager, Central Sulawesi Sigi District Resilience Program (2020–2021): A community resilience program in post-disaster Sigi District, supported by World Renew Canada.
- Coordinator, Mount Sinabung Disaster Response Project: Managing emergency response operations following the Mount Sinabung disaster.
- Researcher and Author: Author of the academic article “Building Peaceful Coexistence Between Rohingya Refugees and Buffer Communities in Langsa City and East Aceh” (2018), published in the Journal of Islamic Law Studies, Universitas Indonesia.
By combining extensive field experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to accountable governance, Yulia Rina Wijaya continues to lead Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia in advancing its mission of community empowerment in the areas of health, education, and environmental sustainability.
