Suparlan

Suparlan is a senior practitioner in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), Anticipatory Action (AA), and the strengthening of inclusive and sustainable Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). With more than 20 years of experience across Indonesia and Southeast Asia, he has actively led projects in capacity development, policy advocacy, and community resilience strengthening in response to disasters and climate change.

CSO Capacity Strengthening Coordinator

He is the initiator of Forum LokaNusa (Localization Forum in Indonesia), an initiative that promotes and strengthens the role of local actors in humanitarian action and sustainable development in Indonesia. Suparlan has expertise in participatory facilitation, institutional development, research and assessment, as well as the development of strategic documents related to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and Anticipatory Action (AA), currently referred to as Early Warning Response Action (EWRA), particularly for hydrometeorological disasters.


Suparlan holds a Master’s degree in Social Development from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) certification from ITC Netherlands. Currently, he serves as the Coordinator of the Civil Society Organization Development Commission (KPOMS) at Yayasan SHEEP Indonesia. He is also actively engaged in building multi-stakeholder partnerships involving government institutions, academics, communities, and civil society organizations across Indonesia.
