SHEEP Volunteers
SHEEP Volunteers are individuals who voluntarily contribute their time, energy, and ideas to support the achievement of program and organizational goals based on their capacities and skills. YSI opens opportunities for individuals who wish to engage in or contribute to humanitarian and community empowerment work. YSI recognizes three categories of volunteers. Expert Volunteers, Professional Volunteers, and Technical Volunteers.
SHEEP Foundation Volunteer Recruitment Process

A. Registration Period
- Volunteer registration opens twice a year. January and July.
- Applicants can register through the SHEEP Foundation website at https://www.sheepindonesia.org/en/dukungan/relawan or send their CV and Specific of Interest (SI) or proposal to info@sheepindonesia.org
- YSI does not provide any form of financial compensation during the volunteer engagement.
B. Volunteer Implementation
The volunteer program runs in two periods.
- Period I: February to April
- Period II: August to October
C. Administrative Process
- Prospective volunteers review YSI’s mandate through social media platforms. Website, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.
- Prospective volunteers submit a proposal or an outline of the topic or issue they are interested in, aligned with YSI’s mandate.
- The YSI Human Resources unit reviews the submitted proposal or outline.
- The review result becomes the basis for assigning volunteers to a Commission, Bureau, or Project within YSI.
D. Activity Process After Proposal or Topic Outline Acceptance
- Volunteers present their proposal or topic outline at the Secretariat and the referred Commission, Bureau, or Project.
- Volunteers attend an introduction session with the Commission and Bureau.
- Volunteers submit their activity plan and time availability.
- Volunteers and YSI sign a volunteer agreement.
- Volunteers carry out activities with supervision and monitoring from a Supervisor.
- Volunteers deliver a final presentation that includes work results, learning outcomes, and critical notes if any.

Building Resilience Community Program
- Community organizing.
- Policy studies and advocacy.
- Health education and promotion.
- Facilitators on contextual issues to encourage the strengthening of Community Base Organizations (CBO). For example: organic farming, building peace, village mapping, micro-enterprise analysis, etc.

Research Program (Research support)
- Water filter research.
- Participatory action research on Community Health System.
- Participatory action research on Food Sovereignty
- Action research for Capacity of Local Government and Civil Society Organisation on DRR.

Disaster Management Program
- Emergency Response: Assessment, Medical and Non-Medical Services.
- Rehabilitation and reconstruction: field facilitators, expert/ professional volunteers.
- Disaster preparedness and mitigation: facilitator training, volunteer network management.

Institutional Support Program
- Management of information and communication media (website, studio and portal).
- Translating documents and media content.
- Administration and database management.
- Development of program data baseline.
- Library and references management.
