The advocacy process realizes Sustainable Self-Reliance Local Food System; SHEEP Indonesia in the Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara was carried out together with representatives of the Management of 7 Partners of community organizations (OMB) on Friday (26/7/2022) by inviting the ranks of service heads (kadis) in Kupang regency. One of the advocacy is carried out by hearing meetings and exploring Cooperation to listen to concepts and invite synergy in meeting the needs and process of developing local food independence programs. The meeting was facilitated by BP4D of Kupang Regency as a follow-up to the cooperation agreement and FGD with the Regent of Kupang during the dissemination of the study of the local food system independence policy. In the meeting, discussions and opportunities were also held for OMB members to convey the needs related to important points in the cooperation agreement on the issue of local food system independence policy.
The meeting, which took place in the BP4D meeting room in Kupang regency, was attended by representatives of the management of 7 partner OMB in the Amabi Oefeto sub-district, the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, MSME Trade Industry and Cooperatives, the Environment, Village Community Empowerment, BP4D, and the Kupang regency governance agency. In the meeting process, Serly, one of the representatives of OMB, said that so far the assistance provided by the government was only a formality and was not on target because it was not based on the results of mapping needs in the village. Often the use of such assistance is unused and damaged or abandoned, some of which is in the form of agricultural equipment. Corroborating the statement from Serly, Amos Benu, OMB Representative conveyed the OMB work program and the needs needed for the implementation of the future program. One of the programs presented was a field school and several needs in the form of resource persons to increase production capacity, post-harvest processing, and marketing, local feed ingredients storage equipment, and market networks needed by the group.
The meeting ended with an agreement to re-invite the relevant agencies to draw up a collective work agreement, detailed work plans and cooperation agreements (PKS) from the Kupang district government as well as detailed work plans and assistance needs from the YSI and OMB groups. This work plan will be synergized with the work plan of the relevant agency so that it becomes a joint work plan which is also an attachment to the work agreement in the next meeting.
