Thursday (31/03/22) at Len Tukak Bendu, Tukak Bendu hamlet, Kayangan District, North Lombok, the village disaster preparedness team (TSBD) of Santong Mulia village supported by AJI Mataram held a children's wayang Botol performance. The bottle puppet show was initiated and held as a form of concern and education related to the theme of disaster preparedness and to build public understanding.
The performance by the children of the village of Santong Mulia is more about retelling the flashback of the earthquake that hit them in 2018. The children told how they were victims of the earthquake and reflected back on their feelings during the earthquake. In this performance, children are also invited to share roles, as victims, narrators and those who respond by sharing knowledge. They shouted to each other "Please, the lindur (earthquake in Sasak language) is coming..." said one child and another child grabbed him "If there is an earthquake, hide under the table, if there is an earthquake, get out of the house immediately." the children broke out and continued with clapping and singing. In the middle of the performance, education was also inserted about the use of PEM (community evacuation center) to children.
The activity was attended by the Village Head & Village Government, BPD, community leaders, youth leaders, women, TSBD and children, the community of Santong Mulia Village. This activity is a good momentum that is used as part of the trauma healing process for children affected by the earthquake as well as learning media from the earthquake that they experienced in 2018 with interesting and fun media, in a story that might not be a thing of interest at this time. in the midst of rampant gaming applications and gadgets. This media is an alternative to campaigns as well as education about disaster mitigation to children and the wider community.
