Karo, North Sumatera - Runggu (in Karo Language) meaning deliberation, on Thursday, 06 April 2017 was the second of such meeting and discussed Mount-Sinabung disaster management at District Administrator Office in Karo, North Sumatera.

The agenda was to present monitoring by FASI (Forum Advokasi Sinabung) on implementation of district action plan by district disaster management authority (BPBD) with regards to refugee management, which was inherent part of national action plan convened by the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB).

FASI monitoring report to the Presidential Staff was part of the agreement reached during first deliberation meeting, in order to assess the progress of district action plan implementation. The first deliberation meeting focused on national government policy  (i.e. National Disaster Management Authority and National Action Plan) and the ineffectiveness of regional government actions in managing refugees in Sinabung. Subsequent action plan will be discussed during the deliberation meeting to ensure effective refugee management in the future.

The meeting was an evidence of SHEEP successful advocacy at local and national level in regards to refugee management in Sinabung. Before this, SHEEP managed to initiate the establishment of YSI that incorporates local NGOs (Non-Government Organization). (Rossi)
