3rd Situation Report West Sumatra Earth Quake − September 30, 2009


    Up to Monday, October 5, 2009 at 09.00 a.m. West Sumatra Provincial Disaster Response Agency recorded 608 dead tolls, missing person [343 people], serious injury [596 people] and light injury [897 people].
    Meanwhile, damage houses are recorded as follow: serious damage [88,272 units], medium damage [43,323 units] and light damage [47.076 units]. The most damage area is located in Padang City and Padang Pariaman District, either building damages or geological damage and landslides due to its short distance from the epicenter, geological factor and or poor building construction.

    SHEEP´s Focus Area

    SHEEP Emergency Team will focus to conduct emergency relief response in the area of Padang City, Padang Pariaman, and Southern Coastal Area. There are lots of remote areas in Padang Pariaman districts without any necessary relief responses for the survivors. Based on liputan 6 of SCTV news, the survivors do not have any assistance until Saturday October 3, 2009 (see the picture). The name of this area is Ulakan Tapakis under the district of Padang Pariaman, West Sumatera Province. Other areas that have serious damages are in village of Tiga Raja, Pasir Lawas, and Sumanak.
