A 6.2 Richter-scale earthquake (and the subsequent tsunami) hit West and Central Java on 17 July 2006. The disaster aroused sympathy and desire to help amongst all people. SHEEP, too, felt that it was its duty to respond to the disaster by sending a humanitarian team to Pangandaran on 20 July 2006 (three days after the disaster).
